The Rotary Club of Marble Falls presented a check for $15,000 to The Helping Center on Friday, Oct. 9.

This generous contribution represents the final installment of a $45,000 pledge by the Rotary Club to sponsor a walk-in freezer and a walk-in cooler for the new Helping Center facility.

Paul King, president of the Helping Center board, thanked the Rotary Club “for its longtime support of The Helping Center and for its trust in our ministry to serve those less fortunate in our community.”

King further stated that “having the walk-ins will be a game changer for the food pantry by improving storage capacity and efficiency and our ability to meet the nutritional needs of our clients.”

The new Helping Center facility, located on the Community Resource Center campus at the corner of Broadway and Ave J, is in the final stages of construction. According to executive director Sam Pearce, THC is on schedule to begin serving clients at the new facility in mid-January.
