As many as five city council seats from two of the largest municipalities in the county have developed into contested races for the Saturday, May 7 election.

Schools and city council races are being decided on that day, along with two proposed state constitutional amendments (See related story on Page 4A.) In Marble Falls, the polls are located at the Mar

In Marble Falls, the polls are located at the Marble Falls Courthouse S. Annex, 810 Steve Hawkins Parkway. Polls will be open on election day, Saturday, May 7, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the annex.

The names on the Marble Falls City Council ballot are for Place 1, where Griff Morris is going head to head with Jim Postelle – both non-incumbents.

Marble Falls City Council Place 3 incumbent Rene Rosales filed for re-election and faces Lauren Haltom. Place 5 incumbent Dee Haddock is on the ballot but does not face a challenger.

Other cities with local elections are Cottonwood Shores, where Gary Parsons and Michael Ritchie are vying for the position. In Cottonwood Shores council Place 3 and Place 5, neither Cheryl Trinidad nor Roger Wayson, respectively, have opponents.

In Granite Shoals, Place 2 incumbent Bruce Jones is being challenged by Aaron Garcia; Place 4 incumbent Steve Hougen goes up against Derrick Klotz; and Place 6 incumbent Phil Ort faces Kevin Flack.

The Kingsland Municipal Utility District also has one contested three-way race – Josh Caropepe, Ken Black and Ken Martin are vying for Place 3 on the board of directors. Place 4 candidate Kim Delz has no challenger. The Place 5 seat is also uncontested with Lorean Sindelar on the ballot.
