Horseshoe Bay refuses to extend spec home variance

Horseshoe Bay City Council members declined Tuesday to extend a variance to a local builder that would allow him to build more than two speculative homes at one time. The action — or rather inaction — by the council came after Mayor Cynthia Clinesmith told contractor Dean Blaine of Grandview Homes that residents have asked city leaders to curb the city’s rate of growth to make sure it does not go unchecked.
