President supporters hosting impromptu waterway parades

Hundreds of boats descended on Lake LBJ in the Kingsland area on Saturday, Sept. 5 to rally in support of President Donald Trump.

Sand mining opponents re-organize, set goals

As plans for a proposed sand mining operation takes shape on the Llano River, a group of residents has streamlined their message, re-organized their strategy and released a list of concerns, officials said.

The proposed budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $18,138, or 10 percent, of which, $3,740 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll. Highland Haven has had the lowest tax rate of any incorporated city in Burnet County for many years. Contributed

HHaven to hold hearing on FY 2021 budget

Highland Haven’s Board of Aldermen will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, and to receive comment on the proposed fiscal year 2021 budget at the Highland Haven Community Center City Hall, 118 Blackbird Drive. Following the hearing, the Board of Aldermen may vote to adopt the budget for fiscal year 2021.

Authorities investigate separate drownings in two days

Game wardens and Horseshoe Bay police officials are investigating two fatalities which occurred within days of each other on Llano County waterways. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) investigators have determined an incident on the Llano River to be an "accidental drowning," while police continue to sift through clues connected to a body found floating in Lake LBJ in Horseshoe Bay.
