Uncertainty looms over 2021-22 Marble Falls ISD budget

Marble Falls Independent School District officials are waiting for answers to more questions than usual as discussions begin about the 2021-22 budget and tax rate. Initial estimates place the overall budget somewhere between a deficit of approximately $300,000 and a surplus of over $1 million, depending on property values, recapture and the district’s ability to keep students in class.

Marble Falls ISD, area schools close for safety

Marble Falls Independent School District joined several other districts throughout Central Texas to close school for the entire week, cancel events and potentially delay the start in coming days as winter weather conditions are forecast to become more severe.
When school starts, Aug. 19, there will be a number of students who opt to attend in-classroom studies, which highlights the need for those youngsters to fill a few backpacks. The Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center is organizing a collection campaign to help.

HL Family Crisis Center organizes Adopt a Student

Special to The Highlander The Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center is encouraging Burnet and Llano County residents to adopt a student by donating school supplies for the 2020-21 school year. Conny Steele is organizing the donation drive for the Family Crisis Center and reminds everyone that school starts this year on Aug.
