Authorities are trying to determine whether unwitting patrons may have been victims of a credit card fraud device found at a convenience store fueling station in Marble Falls. Police reported that the socalled skimmer was found at pump 13 by an employee of Stripes, 3501 US 281 in the north end of town.

A 31-year-old Horseshoe Bay man remains in the Burnet County Jail in lieu of $126,500 bond after law enforcement officials said he assaulted his girlfriend, stole a truck, tried to run over the vehicle’s rightful owner and then assaulted one of the arresting officers last week.

Marble Falls High student, teacher clash over cell phone

A teacher has resigned his position at Marble Falls High School following an incident with a student involving access to a cell phone, officials said. Circumstances surrounding the incident revealed that during class the morning of Oct. 16, the teacher had taken away a student's cell phone for reportedly being used without permission, according to preliminary probe by the school resource officer.
