Girls and boys golf in top 5 finishes

The Marble Falls golf teams participated in the Lake Travis Invitational this week at LakeCliff Golf Club in Spicewood. The Lady Mustangs placed fourth, and the boys brought home medals placing second. 91-year-old hunter bags two big bucks in Burnet County

Ninety-one-year-old Rose Wright was able to take down these two bucks within 15 minutes of each other on the first morning of deer season on Saturday, Nov. 7. The bucks were 10 points, left, and eight points, right. It was the first time in Rose’s illustrious hunting history that she ever had killed two bucks the first morning of deer season. The ranch where she shot the deer has been in her family since 1949 and is located in southern Burnet County.

Lions Club announces Warm Coats for Kids campaign

The Spicewood and Highland Lakes Lions Club will be distributing new and gently used, clean coats for children of all ages who need a coat and cannot afford one. These coats are available for Highland Lakes area children of all ages and will be distributed at the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge at 319 Ave. G, Marble Falls on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
