Authorities release details of alleged domestic murder-suicide investigation

According

to Cottonwood Shores police, the investigation unfolded the day after Christmas in the 800

block of Pine Lane. The victims were, found dead at the scene, were Thomas Avery Diaz, 26, and Viana R. Parras, 24.

"We're calling it a mur der-suicide,” Cottonwood Shores Police Chief Johnny

Liendo said. "We received a call from a family member re -

questing a welfare check." Diaz and Parras, who had hosted a marriage ceremony in October, were characterized by police as husband and wife.

Burnet County Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Debbie Bindseil pronounced the victims dead at the scene.

Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation.

"It's an ongoing investiga - tion," Liendo said. "We're still waiting on toxicology and final autopsy reports."
