A cache of items believed to be “artifacts” on Backbone Creek has launched protocols for analysis and cataloguing of the site, officials said. The find was uncovered by crews working on a bank stabilization project on the shoreline of the creek in Johnson Park. The work involves a multi-million dollar erosion prevention and fortification effort, primarily funded by state and federal grants. …
