  • Burnet County Republican Party held their County Convention on Saturday, June 6 at the Agrilife Building in Burnet. Delegates voted on six resolutions that will be submitted to the RPT Convention Platform Committee. They also voted to send 28 delegates and six alternates to the RPT Convention in Houston.

The Burnet County Republican Party held its county convention at the Texas AgriLife Extension building in Burnet on Saturday, June 6.

Featured speakers included State Rep. Terry Wilson, R-Marble Falls, and State Board of Education member Tom Maynard. Also taking part in the convention were State Republican Executive Committeewoman Summer Wise, Republican Party of Texas regional director Krysta Walker, Burnet County Judge James Oakley, Precinct 1 Commissioner Jim Luther Jr., Precinct 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle and Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Roxanne Nelson.

Video messages were received from Texas Republican Party chair James Dickey, State Sen. Dawn Buckingham and Allen West. During the meeting, the BCRP delegation announced its support for re-election of RNC Committeewoman Toni Anne Dashiell, who is also the chair of the Committee on Arrangements for the 2020 RNC Convention.

Several new Republicans were welcomed at the county convention and it was announced the local party is sending a full delegation to Houston for the Republican Party of Texas Convention on July 16-18.
