A female driver and her car ended up partially submerged in Lake LBJ in Horseshoe Bay shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, the driver was headed eastbound on FM 2147 in the 6200 block, just west of Bunny Run, when her vehicle struck the curb on the south side of the road, overcorrected to the north side of the road and rolled off the bridge and into the water.

Fortunately, a city employee and another Good Samaritan who witnessed the incident were able to jump into the lake to help the woman escape after she suffered only minor injuries.

Assistant Chief Jason Graham said the driver, whose name was being withheld, may have been “distracted” and charges could be pending for traffic violations.
