From flood notice to police funding, 2022 ushers in new laws

Lawmakers during the 87th Texas Legislative Session created several laws – about two dozen of which went into effect Jan. 1 of the new year – ranging from efforts to reduce tax bills and support police forces to informing renters about flood risks and expanding nursing home patients rights.
