Granite Shoals police and fire officials oversaw active shooter and school emergency training exercises throughout the day on July 22. Several law enforcement and other emergency vehicles were staged around the campus, and motorists and nearby residents noticed audible bangs from firearms shooting blank rounds, participants shouting commands and saw smoke connected to the emergency response scenarios.
