Rows and rows of roller skates and bowling shoes are lined up on the inside walls of the highly-anticipated Putters & Gutters 2 Fun Center in Marble Falls awaiting hundreds of families in the greater Highland Lakes area.

The wait won’t be much longers as company officials have opted for “soft opening” on Wednesday, Feb. 16, with the social media announcement exclaiming that “The day & time has arrived!”

Located at 4100 U.S. 281, motorists have seen the grounds morphing for almost two year into a multi-purpose private venue, just south of the Pedernales Electric Cooperative facility.

Since its 2020 ground breaking the business has faced a series of “fits and starts” with delays related to the pandemic, equipment and materials back orders and now worker shortages, officials confirmed.

The fun center will include a skating rink, miniature golf course, live music venue, eatery and other amenities.

One of the most notable amenities involves a 20- lane bowling alley, which would be conducive to hosting tournaments.

Officials boasted in early 2021 that the Marble Falls venue is expected to create about 70 jobs, which, depending on the position, could start minimum pay at $15 per hour. A hiring event was conducted in the summer of 2021.

The inside amenities have appeared to come together at a more rapid pace than work in late 2020 and early 2021.

Outside amenities – including a miniature golf course and go kart track, are a much-anticipated part of the site.

Officials stated that amenities which will be immediately open will be the bowling alley, putt putt golf, roller skating rink and arcade with other features still in development.

The eatery portion of the venue will offer a “limited menu” at first as personnel continues to evolve.

“We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we train staff and complete construction,” officials stated.

Weekly hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The venue Friday and Saturday schedule is 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
