Schools, city temporarily shutter doors due to staffing issues

On the heels of a three-day lobby closure of municipal offices, Marble Falls Independent School District officials opted to close campuses today, Friday Jan. 14 due to leave taken by staff prompted by the pandemic.

In a social media posting and emails to parents, the district relayed information about the lack of educators for student ratios as well as support staff necessary to perform services to operate a public school setting.

COVID-19 testing outcomes, adherence to Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and concerns about potential “contact exposure” remain at the center of closures in public entities including the city of Marble Falls as well as the local school district.
