Voters take to the polls for early voting in gubernatorial year

Voters go to the polls Monday for the primary elections in what is known as a gubernatorial year from Feb. 14-25 for the March 1 election. Several contested races in the Republican primaries are listed in both Llano County and Burnet County. No Democrats are vying for county races in either county.

Both Democrat and Republican primaries feature contested races at the state and federal level, including state senator, state representative and the governor’s race.

Burnet County

Early voting is scheduled for 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Feb 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23 and 25.

Early voting extended hours are set for 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Feb. 17 and 24.

Throughout the early voting period, voters may cast a ballot at booths located at:

• Burnet AgriLife Auditorium, 607 N. Vandeveer;

• Bertram in the Joann Cole Mitte Memorial Library, 170 N. Gabriel St.;

• Granite Shoals in the Granite Shoals Community Center, 1208 N. Phillips Ranch Road; and

• Marble Falls in the Marble Falls Courthouse South Annex, 810 Steve Hawkins Parkway.

Llano County

Early voting is scheduled for 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Feb 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23 and 25.

Early voting extended hours are set for 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Feb. 17 and 24.

Llano County has three early voting locations:

• Llano County Library, 102 E. Haynie, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all early voting days;

• Kingsland Public Library, 125 W. Polk, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on all early voting days; and

• Quail Point POA, 107 Twilight from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on all early voting days.

Early voting polls will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21 in observance of Presidents’ Day for all Burnet County and Llano County locations.

The 2022 primaries are March 1. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022.
