Russell (Russ) W. McCreery, 86, fell asleep in death on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
He was born September 1, 1934 in Massillon Ohio to Evron and Nellie McCreery, the fourth of seven children. He married Judith Ann Jones of Massillon in 1956.
They were married 64 years and one day. They were best friends. Their love brought two beautiful daughters, Lori and Hali.
He moved his family to Texas in 1964 and retired in 1993 from Amoco Oil in Texas City.
Among his many interests, collecting coins and fine antiques brought years of satisfaction. Russ always enjoyed a sweet treat, a funny story, and the company of his beloved dogs, Coco and Casey. He was always ready to get together with family and friends.
His grandchildren were his greatest pride and he would never pass an opportunity to spend time with them or better yet, share an ice cream bar. However, his life’s accomplishment was his relationship with his God Jehovah.
He is survived by his wife Judith of Marble Falls, his daughter Lori Nash and husband Steve of Marble Falls, his six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, sister, and daughter Hali Holden.
A memorial service will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls on October 10, 2020 at 2 p.m.
