Alan Ray Perkins, of Marble Falls, Texas passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023. He was 74 years old. Alan was born April 7, 1949, in Austin, Texas to parents Homer and Jean Perkins. He spent much of his life in Austin, spending a few years in Chicago, Illinois and Marble Falls, Texas.

He graduated from Austin High in 1967, where he played Saxophone in the band, was a member of the Jazz Band and was drum major for the marching band.

After high school, he briefly attended Southwest Texas State University where he met his first wife.

In 1971, he entered the Army and attended boot camp in South Carolina. He injured his knee in boot camp and exited the Army with a medical discharge. He returned to Texas to join his father at the Austin Surplus Lines Agency, Inc., where he became an insurance underwriter until 1984.

Alan was owner/ manager of the Ship E-Z shipping store in Marble Falls from 2002 to 2008.

Alan was a member of the Austin Jaycees, the Texas Surplus Lines Association and several gun clubs. He loved to hunt, fish and listen to live music. But most of all, he loved a good joke and laughter.

He is survived by his brother Rick, his sister BJ, and his brother Randy, as well as three nephews and two nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Jean Perkins of Horseshoe Bay, TX.

Alan is loved and he will be missed.
