Barbara Jane Peterson, affectionately known as B.J., left this life and went to her heavenly home on January 06, 2024 at the age of 85.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roy, her sister Ann McDonald and her parents A.D. & Dorothy Meador. She is survived by her brother Sam Meador and wife Denise, daughter Lesa Scruggs and husband Steve, stepdaughters Robin Moreng and husband Nathan, and Shelley Collette and husband Dan. Grandchildren Jill, Jiffy, Jared, Aaron, Kelsey, Kevin, Kendra, and 12 great grandchildren and one about to be born and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born on July 28, 1938, in Big Spring, Texas to A.D. & Dorothy Meador. She grew up in Big Spring and graduated high school there in 1956.

She excelled after high school working in the civil service beginning at Webb Air Force Base and finishing her civil service career at Randolph Air Force base in 1980.

She married her beloved Roy in 1970 and was very much an "officers' wife” even serving a term as president of the officer's wives club. After retirement she loved spending time with Roy both tending to the cattle & ranch and also time on the lake.

B.J. loved to entertain and was a wonderful hostess. Especially at Christmas time for which she was usually deco-rated well before Halloween!

Since 1985 she was very involved with Kingsland Community Church in many ways, serving as Board Chairman from 2004 2006, 2 terms as Worship Chairman, 2 terms as Women's Christian Ministry President, circle leader for many years as well as helping organize and execute numer-ous rummage and bake sales.

She also organized the Christmas decorating committee for many years.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in B.J.'s memory can be made to the Hill Country Humane Society, 9150 RM 1431 W, Buchanan Dam, TX 78609. https:// hchstexas.com/donate/ The family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on January 12, 2024 at Barrow Hall, Kingsland Community Church.

The Funeral Ceremony began in the Sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
