Barbara Jeanine Monroe Belcher of Meadowlakes, Texas, passed away peacefully from this earth to eternity on November 20, 2023.
Barbara was born July 26, 1937 in Iraan, Texas to John and Virginia Monroe. She grew up on the family ranch outside of Iraan. She graduated from Iraan High School where she played the flute in the band and was a majorette. On June 11, 1955 she married Donnie L. Belcher in Fresno, California and made their home in Odessa, Texas.
Barbara was a homemaker and then worked for 1st Savings & Loan for a number of years. She was a founding member of Antioch Christian Church and an avid Mojo fan!!
In 2000, Donnie and Barbara retired and moved to Meadowlakes to enjoy their retirement years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Belcher, her parents and great grandson, Parker Crew Belcher.
Those left to cherish her memories are Larry & Terry Belcher (Conroe, Texas), Ronnie & Laurie Belcher (Ruidoso, New Mexico) and Cheryl Smith (Meadowlakes, Texas), 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Sandy (Vearl “Doc”) McDaniel and Carolyn “Dutchie” (Rahe) Slover and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Arbor House for their wonderful care during the last few months of her life.
Barbara will be laid to rest December 2, 2023, at 10:00 am at Restland Cemetery in Iraan, Texas.
