Body

November 30, 1962 — April 19, 2024

Barry Dowe Burton was born November 30, 1962 in Burnet, TX and passed away at the age of 61, on April 19, 2024 in Marble Falls, TX.

Barry is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Pat Burton; two daughters, Blyss Herrera (Ben), and Blair Bowen (Carson); three grandchildren, Brixley & Bennett Herrera and Brigham Bowen; two sisters, Lesli Cathey (Chuck), and Libbi Reeder (Jeff); and many nieces and nephews, Mackinsey Hawthorne (Wright), Kirby Cathey, Kelsey Cathey, Sterling Hahn, Keaton Hahn, Brynn Reeder, and Canyon Reeder.

He attended Marble Falls High School where he was Class Vice President and graduated in 1981. After high school, he attended San Angelo State University.

Barry grew up on Lake Marble Falls. He always loved being on the water and spent many days cruising around on a boat or a jet ski. He was an integral part of the crew who brought the Lakefest Boat Races to town and continued to be a part of the races for many years.

He’s also remembered and appreciated for

opening the first drive thru beverage barn, Circle B.

Barry was a devoted son, he helped his parents every day in any way and wouldn’t have changed it for anything. He could fix anything, although it might not be to spec. When he wasn’t busy being the family handyman he drove buses or limos. In fact, he was notorious for driving or riding on all sorts of various vehicles across Texas.

His vehicles matched his style, which could be described as unique. You would often find him in a starched shirt with swim trunks on and some type of wild hat. He was also quite known for his tardi- ness and as told by his daughters, his famous last words were "I'm coming over the bridge.”

Barry was one of a kind. He never knew a stranger and would give the shirt off of his back. He always found a way to help people. His kindness was unmatched and he was loved by so many. His girls and grandchildren were the lights of his life. His most honorable title was being "B-Papa" to his three grandchildren. You may had even seen his nails painted a time or two thanks to his granddaughter, Brixley.

His personality and presence could brighten any room and it is no doubt that is what happened when he entered the gates of heaven.

Visitation for Barry was held Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 pm at Life Family Marble Falls, 1901 Mormon Mill Rd, Marble Falls, Texas. Barry's Cele-bration of Life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 am, also at Life Family Marble Falls. Barry will be laid to rest at the Haynie Flat Ceme-ery in Spicewood, Texas.
