Body

Betty Jo Miller, 91, of Marble Falls, left this earth on January 13, 2021 to join her heavenly father. After living in Austin most of her life, she spend the last 34 years living on Lake LBJ near Marble Falls, Texas.

Betty was born in Austin, Texas to Thomas Bowen Gray and Alta Perkins Gray on January 21, 1929. She graduated from Austin High School, and married Frank Miller on October 29, 1948.

She worked at the Texas Highway Department while the couple completed the construction of their first home in South Austin. In the years that followed, Betty was a wife, mother, homemaker, cook, dishwasher, seamstress, nurse, teacher, business manager, accountant, payroll clerk, apartment manager, janitor, gardener, painter, carpenter helper, concrete finisher, and whatever else any family member, friend or neighbor needed her to be.

She put others before herself in all situations, and seldom spoke a cross word. She never complained, and the Lord knows that her husband and son gave her plenty of reasons to.

Always humble to a fault, giving up her meal, her seat, her place in line, and whatever she had to the benefit of others.

She truly had a servant’s heart and exhibited it every single day. I can hear the Lord saying “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness” Matthew 25:21

Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Frank Miller. Betty is survived by her son, Gary Miller, daughter-in-law, Tracy Miller, grandchildren Gray Miller and Jaxson Miller, her brother, Ben Gray, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her close friend and “daughter” Dennie Fluitt.

Funeral services will be held January 30, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 Hwy 281 North, Marble Falls, with Pastor Ken Womack officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, 4219 Park Road 4 South, Burnet.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Vitas hospice care, Home Care Assistance of Austin, and specifically Ms. Gladys Manganzi for her excellent service and friendship to Betty and her family in their time of need.
