Dan Marshall Cone was born on February 4, 1945 to Cecil Cone, former mayor of Bloomington Illinois, & Mary Alice Cone. He is preceded in death by his daughters Christy and Shannan, his granddaughter Laura Marie, and his younger sister Carol. He attended Texas Tech and graduated with a degree in Economics.

Dan’s career took him all over the world. He truly enjoyed learning about the cultures and people he encounted during his travels. He loved the pursuit of knowledge and particularly loved the Latin American culture having lived in Panama.

He was very active in the Marble Falls VFW and enjoyed being part of their Auxiliary. He was in charge of their publicity, various children’s programs supported by the VFW, and was part of the team instrumental in obtaining a new digital sign for the post. He also helped in the planning of the upcoming 50th Anniversary. He cherished the friendships made their. Dan was also a member of the Marble Falls Parks & Rec. Commission.

Dan will be greatly missed by his family, wife Evelyn Acosta-Cone, her daughter Krista Keating Acosta, son-in-law David McLaughlin, Dan’s older brother John Cone, his sister-in-law Holly, sister Cathy Kennedy, brother-inlaw Rick. Beloved nephew Stephen Cone, his wife Lisa and their children Siena and Preston. His nieces and nephews Carissa, Carolyn, Jonathan, and Joshua Cone and dearest family friend Chris Albury .

There will be a celebration of life held in the near future to commemorate his life. He wanted us to have a good old party, no gloom and doom for him. Details will be announced at a later date.
