Helen was born April 10, 1924 in Latexo, Houston County, Texas to Lela Minnie Poe and Jasper Gray Dixson.

She died November 13, 2020 at Granite Mesa Health Center in Marble Falls, Burnet County, Texas. She was 96 years, 7 months and 3 days old.

The youngest girl of eleven children and she is the last of her siblings.

She graduated from Pasadena High School and married Joe Marvin (Bob) White July 4, 1940 in Houston, Texas. He went off to WWII while she held down the home front.

She was the owner of Helyn’s Dress Shop, in South Houston, Texas, for twelve years, then, was the top salesman for Sears Appliances in Gulfgate, in Houston for thirteen years.

She was a woman of faith and raised her family in the church. She always had an appointment with Jesus at 6 a.m. every day to pray and read her scriptures.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her ten siblings, her husband of seventy-one years, Bob White, sons-in-law, David H. Bennett, David Standridge, and granddaughter, Stacy Ann Standridge.

Helen is survived by her three daughters, Judy Ann Standridge of Kerrville, Texas, Sharon Sue Lockart and husband George of Buchanan Dam, Texas, and Karen Louise Hammel and husband Chris of Holland, Texas; nine grandchildren, John and Derek Standridge, Rebekah Bennett, Melissa Pistole, Amber Grannis, Krissy Eckholdt, Douglas Hammel, and Nikki Workman; 23 great-grandchildren, Walter, Clay, Theo, Lucy, Carmela, Joaquin, and Ruben Standridge, Cullen, Jarrett, Bryson, and Kimber Pistole, Taryn, Haleigh, Brooklyn, Hyrum, and Bonnie Grannis, Jonathan, Caleb, Christopher, Lucy and William Eckholdt, Amanda and Andrew Workman.

Visitation was held Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland, Texas. The funeral was held Monday, November 16, and was available via livestream for the public. Because of Covid, there were no public attendees at the funeral service or the graveside.
