Tommye Jane Holt, 89, passed away December 22, 2020, at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

Tommye was born March 20, 1931, in Oglesby, Texas to the late William Easter and Zora Mae Hudson Lamb. Tommye lived a long, beautiful life with her sweetheart and husband of 65 years, Bradford Holt, who passed away in October 2017.

She was a life-long resident of Texas. Tommye graduated from Oglesby High School in 1948 and was valedictorian of her class. She attended Baylor University from 1948 to 1951. She married Brad Dec. 21, 1951. She lived most of her life in El Paso, Texas where she raised three sons, Stephen, Conrad and Paul.

Tommye’s career was mainly a homemaker and mother. Before she had children, she worked for the Health Department. While raising her children, she worked 10 years as a substitute teacher. She was also a volunteer for the Assistance League of El Paso.

Tommye was a devout Christian and taught Sunday School at Immanuel Baptist Church for over 20 years. Tommye was always passionate about gardening. As a member of a garden club in El Paso, she entered her work in annual garden shows and won numerous awards for flowers and plants she raised in her yard and in her home.

After Brad retired, they moved to Horseshoe Bay, Texas to be closer to their family, and she became an active member of the First Baptist Church in Marble Falls. Being married to a sports fanatic, Tommye became one herself. They enjoyed attending high school and college sporting events regularly, mainly basketball. They were faithful season ticket holders for the Baylor women’s basketball team for several years. Tommye was a kind, generous, soft-hearted and beautiful woman who touched many hearts with her smile and giving personality.

Tommye was preceded in death by her oldest son, Steve.

Survivors include two sons, Conrad (Kimber) of Fort Worth, Texas and Paul (Karen) of Columbia, S.C.; six grandchildren, Matthew (Tania), Mark, Darbi, Harris, Preston and Courtney; and her two great-grandsons, Nathan and Steven.

Graveside services will be held at 1:15 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Marble Falls, 901 La Ventana Drive, Marble Falls, Texas 78654.
