Personnel from Marble Falls Fire Rescue received their coronavirus vaccinations Dec. 29 in an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. As part of a tiered distribution process, the Moderna vaccine was shipped first to hospitals and clinics, free-standing emergency rooms, EMS providers, pharmacies and health departments.
Personnel from Baylor Scott & White Marble Falls got in line Wednesday, Dec. 23 to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, due to their close work with vulnerable and at-risk individuals. Contributed

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, a time to educate the public about the potential causes and risk factors of the disease. According to the CDC, each year, more people die of lung cancer than any other type of cancer.

Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, 48 percent of Americans claim they or someone in their household has delayed or skipped medical care, according to a poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation. In addition, 11 percent of those individuals who delayed or skipped medical care reported that their condition worsened as a result of delayed medical attention.
