City and school district debate truancy funding

Marble Falls City Council members balked at a request June 1 from the Marble Falls Independent School District to fund the entity’s case manager over truancy incidents. In years past, the district funded the $12,000 per year staff member – considered “mostly volunteer” at current budgeted salary – who works with the Marble Falls Municipal Court.
