Horseshoe Bay fire crews douse condo blaze

Horseshoe Bay fire crews, police and EMS, along with a ladder truck from Marble Falls, responded to a condo fire near the intersection of Poker Chip and Out Yonder shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday. According to HSB Fire Chief Brent Batla, when units arrived, there was heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage and upstairs window of the unit. He praised the job done by crews to keep the fire contained to the one unit and said all occupants of the building were safely out of harm’s way and no injuries were reported. Burnet County logged its 11th COVID-19-related fatality this week after a 64-yearold Horseshoe Bay man died at Baylor Scott and White Marble Falls Wednesday, July 29. The number of fatalities reported in Burnet County had climbed from six prior to this week to 10 on Monday, July 27, after the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) changed how it tabulates fatalities to include information from death certificates.
