Top athletes mingle at Kingsland event

A nationally-known wakeboarding champion celebrated local high school athletes who excelled to the top of their classes in statewide UIL competition. Eight-time wakeboarding world champion Harley Clifford was the main attraction during Meet the Champions May 22 at Wakepoint in Kingsland on Lake LBJ.

O’Riley leaps to gold in State high jump

Marble Falls High School senior Kason O’Riley jumped his way to a gold medal in the high jump event on Friday, May 7 at the UIL State track and field meet at the University of Texas at Austin. The senior has been waiting for two years to get another shot at first place in the state, and his time finally came on Friday.

Marble Falls High School senior Jessica Pado onto equestrian team

Marble Falls High School senior Jessica Pado signed with Schreiner University on Friday, April 23 to be a member of the school’s equestrian team. Jessica has shown Arabian horses since she was five years old. She also received a $5,000 scholarship from the Arabian Horse Foundation. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Starlettes Drill Team. She intends to major in pre-law at SU. Marble Falls ISD sorts through $500k in spending

The Marble Falls Independent School District Board of Trustees approved more than half a million dollars in spending on campus improvements, including work as part of the 2018 bond project. The agenda for the Monday, April 19 regular meeting was filled with spending items to enhance safety, connectivity and aesthetics of campuses around the district.

The Marble Falls High School golf teams were rolling before the winter storm halted competition this week. MFHS Lady Mustangs to travel to Leander

The Marble Falls High School girls basketball team dropped a close game against East View 54-50 on Friday night at Max Copeland Gym. Freshman standout Lexie Edwards (33) gave the Patriots fits in the paint in the first half with her size and reach. The Lady Mustangs’ Tuesday game against Rouse has been postponed. The girls travel to Leander to face the Raiders on Friday instead; tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
