Marble Falls High School athletes have a full slate of games this week as the football team heads to San Antonio for the playoffs. The boys basketball team finished non-district play with a 5-4 record after a 60-51 loss to Lago Vista on Friday at home.

Mustangs swimmers compete at Hoot n Holler

Marble Falls High School swimmers collected a few topfive finishes at the annual Hoot N Holler Invite in Burnet on Saturday. The UIL has restricted the number of teams at swim meets due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the invite wasn’t the usual packed house.

The Marble Falls High School Theatre performed Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility on Thursday, Oct. 28, Saturday, Oct. 31 and Sunday, Nov. 1. Sense and Sensibility is a novel by Jane Austen, published in 1811, likely set in southwest England, London and Sussex in the late 1700s. The novel tells the story of the Dashwood sisters, 19-year-old Elinor and 16-year-old Marianne as they come of age. They have an older half-brother, John, and a younger sister, Margaret, 13. The novel follows the three Dashwood sisters as they must move with their widowed mother from the estate on which they grew up, Norland Park. Because Norland is passed down to John, the product of their mother's first marriage, the four Dashwood women must find a new home. In their sojourn, they experience romance and heartbreak.

Marble Falls High student, teacher clash over cell phone

A teacher has resigned his position at Marble Falls High School following an incident with a student involving access to a cell phone, officials said. Circumstances surrounding the incident revealed that during class the morning of Oct. 16, the teacher had taken away a student's cell phone for reportedly being used without permission, according to preliminary probe by the school resource officer.
