MFISD to spend $760k on LED lights

The Marble Falls Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to move towards improved energy efficiency in the school district, including at Mustang Stadium, by upgrading to LED lighting. The board approved more than $760,000 from the 2018 bond package for the purchase and installation of the improved lighting at the regular board meeting on Monday, June 14.

The best track athletes in Texas gathered at Mustang Stadium on Friday, March 19 for the Marble Falls Invitational. Even amongst some of the best runners in the state, Marble Falls junior Eric Nickowski made a name for himself with a fifth place finish in the boys 800-meter run and an 11th place finish in the boys 1600-meter run.

Mustangs earn win over Eagles

The Marble Falls High School boys soccer team secured their first District win on Friday with a 4-1 victory over the Georgetown Eagles at Mustang Stadium. The Mustangs move to 1-0-1 in District play and will face the Leander Lions on Tuesday at home.

UIL regulates capacity limits for school athletic events

Marble Falls Mustangs football games will not have the packed stands that most fans are accustomed to on Friday nights after the UIL released guidelines for 2020-21 sporting events. On Aug. , the UIL issued a mandate that requires school districts to limit seating at athletic matches to 50 percent capacity. Marble Falls Independent School District officials are adapting to the changes to this year's school and athletics programs. "Health and safety are the most important things we are dealing with," MFISD Athletic Director Rick Hoover said in a press release. "The new restrictions are challenging, but we need to do everything possible to keep our kids and our community safe."
