Kingsland man dies on Lake LBJ during fishing trip

UPDATE: According to TPWD, the deceased was identified as 66-year-old David Wells of Kingsland.

Mark Schiffman received his late father’s U.S. Coast Guard ID tags in the mail from New Jersey just after Memorial Day this year. Sunrise Beach resident Mark Schiffman was treated to a Memorial Day surprise this year involving a remnant of his late father’s service in the U.S. Coast Guard.

On Thursday, Dec. 10, searchers recovered the body of Rowdy Brafford, 60, around 9:45 a.m. in about 40 feet of water just off the shoreline of McNair Park in Sunrise Beach.

A Highland Haven man’s body was found in Lake LBJ a day after he was reported missing during a boat ride on Lake LBJ, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife On Thursday, Dec. 10, searchers recovered the body of Rowdy Brafford, 60, around 9:45 a.m.
