City leaders, including Marble Falls City Council members, joined builders and developers of the Thunder Rock project Sept. 21 on Texas 71, just west of U.S. 281 for a groundbreaking.

The development will include nearly 2,000 single family homes, as well as 924 multifamily units, 150 active adult units, 204,000 square feet of commercial development, 26-acre city sports complex with 4 baseball fields, 4 soccer fields and a multi-purpose field, 10-acre recreational center consisting of 20,000 square feet as well as linear parks with native habitat and nature trails along Flatrock Creek.
