Council met, Jan. 17, for their regular scheduled meeting at 6 p.m.

Due to Mayor Bentley being on vacation, Mayor Pro Tem Jesse Lofgreen presided over the meeting.

The meeting was relatively routine in nature; hearing the standard staff reports and updates on ongoing projects.

David Klotz reported that the golf course had been selected as one of the 25 best golf courses in Texas by Golfers’ Choice.

Within the agenda packets, I included a de- tailed review of the first quarter of our fiscal year, which can be found by clicking here.

In general, all four funds of the city performed better than anticipated. Three of the funds

had net gains, with only the Utility Fund posting a loss for the quarter. (The Utility Fund's loss was due to the recent purchase of a used dump truck.)

The first quarter of the fiscal year saw a net gain for all Funds totaling slightly over $331,000, mainly due to ad valorem tax income collected for the General and Debt Service Funds.

Total revenue for the first quarter of the fiscal year were about 1% greater than budgeted and expenses for the quarter were about 14% less than budgeted.

Limb/Brush Pickup The city provides for the convenience of its res- idents a weekly limb and brush pickup every Thursday morning.

Due to some issues with under and oversized limbs left out for city crews to pick up, I would like to briefly review with you our brush pickup policy, a copy of the policy can be found here.

Since all limbs and brush must be chipped, we have certain limitations on the size of limbs and brush.

The limbs must be at least one (1) inch in diameter and no larger than four (4) inches in diameter, and cannot be longer than eight (8) feet in length.

The limbs must be relatively straight and must be able to fit through the four (4) inch square openings of the chipper.

Starting this week, we will no longer be picking up items that do not meet our minimum and maximum diameter and length requirements.

In addition, in order to maximize our work - force, crews will not pick through piles for items that meet these requirements.

The entire pile will be left for the owner to dis pose of by other means or separated correctly.

To be placed on the limb and brush pickup list, call our office at 830- 693-2951 no later than Wednesday by 4 p.m. for the following Thursday pickup.
