Dear Family and Friends, it is with great sadness and a very heavy heart to say that my husband of 30 years, Jay Brian Middleton passed away at our residence on March 30th, 2024. He was born in Odessa Texas and was raised in Port O’Connor and Port Lavaca before moving to the Texas Hill country where he graduated.

Jay was preceded in death by his Father Glen Arlen Middleton and Stepfather Gene Webb, Grandmother Mildred Johnson, Grandfather Willis Ronald “Pappy” Johnson, Aunt Joann Mathis, Uncle Jack Johnson, father-in-law Pete Morowski and sister-inlaw LaDonya Middleton.

He is survived by his wife Sheila Middleton, two sons Nathan Middleton and Arlen Middleton along with Nathan’s girlfriend Kristina Workman, his grand baby Henry Alexander Middleton and his fur babies Maggie, Luci & Bella. He is also survived by his Mother Noma Joyce McConahy, stepfather Mac McConahy, brother Jerry Middleton and his wife Wendy Middleton, his stepsister CC O’Dell and stepbrother Lane McConahy and motherin- law Sandra Morowski. Jay had numerous other family members that included Aunts, Uncles, cousins, sisters-inlaw, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and numerous friends that he called chosen family members. Jay treated everyone like family because family meant the absolute most to him.

Jay was a Regional Superintendent at Brazos River Authority for the last 16 years and had a very successful career in water and wastewater operations for 30 years.

Jay always had a servant’s heart and volunteered at the Granite Shoals and Marble Falls Fire Departments and EMS. He had no fear and was willing to do the hard work!

This is what made him an amazing person that was always willing to help anyone.

Jay was an amazing husband, dad, grand dad, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

The family will host a Celebration of Life on April 13th, 2024 from 3:00-6:00 pm CT at 6Branch Venue located at 10575 W FM 487, Florence, TX 76527. The family would like to ask that no flowers/ plants be sent to this location.

Please feel free to contribute to one of the non-profit organiza tions below or send a perenni- al in lieu of flowers. Perennial plants would be preferred over flowers as those will provide a constant reminder of Jay’s life. Plants should be sent to the Middleton home address only as the venue is unable to accept deliveries.
