November 26, 1940 — March 31, 2024

Nancy Lee Reinhard Kinard passed away very peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Wolf Creek Ranch, Burnet Co., Texas Easter Sunday afternoon at the age of 83.

She was observed joining her Lord and Savior just after 5 pm.

Nancy was born November 26, 1940 to Elton Henry & Aileen Mary Louise Ebert Reinhard in San Antonio, Texas. She was a graduate of New Braunfels High School (The Unicorns) in 1958 with many commendations. She was most proud of being the Chaplin of her graduating class and presenting the morning devotional each day over the school PA system. Later in life, she continued as a Chaplin at the Willowbrook Hospi-tal when she lived in Houston.

In Nancy’s working life, she was an airline flight attendant for a time. She later worked at Randolph AFB for a General Tawdry as his administrator where she applied the fine art of English grammar and punctuation to his communications and ran a tight and on-time office for him.

Nancy had a keen eye for designing very beautiful interiors which she did for many years including her own. She was also a very warm and outgoing person and anyone who knew her, loved her.

For eleven years in her role as wife to the State Lobbyist for Credit Union National (CUNA) Nancy decorated the State of Texas Christmas Tree in the House of Representatives.

She also wrote letters to all other 49 States requesting larger ornaments befitting the size of the tree and that would represent that State’s motto.

When Queen Elizabeth & Prince Philip of Great Britain visited Austin and the LBJ Library in May of 1991, Nancy was invited to be in the receiving line at the State Capitol and attended the State Dinner for the Queen. Ann Richards was Governor of Texas at the time.

Nancy loved children and she and her husband, Lee, helped raise their granddaughter, Heather through the Burnet schools where she maintained a straight “A” average, and then graduated from Texas A&M University and Texas State University with degrees in Wildlife Biology and Entomology and is now working in Dayton, Ohio.

Nancy was blessed with one son, David Beck and a granddaughter Heather Beck, one stepson, Andy Lough, two daughters through marriage, Cynthia Besse and Melissa Donka and grandchildren Christina Smith, Logan Donka, Lauren Donka and Lyndsey Donka and two great grandchildren Keegan Smith and Kamryn Smith whom she loved immensely. Until they passed in the early 2000’s, she also acquired a new and lov-ing set of parents, Jack and Lois Kinard when she and Lee married 14 September 1996 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas.

A memorial service for Nancy is being planned for sometime in June at the Highland Lakes UMC at SH29 & RR1431 in Llano County. She will be cremated and the urn will be buried in a plot adjacent to the final resting places for her second parents in the Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Temple, TX
