Austinite Rick Trevino comes back to Marble Falls to headline the first of three free music shows this summer being put on by the City of Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department and Double Eagle Entertainment.

The first show will be Friday, June 18, at Johnson Park, 230 Ave. J, Marble Falls, featuring special guest The Steel Belts.

A second show will be held Friday, July 23, with Cody Hibbard as the main attraction with special guest Matthew A. Butter.

The final show will be Friday, Aug. 13, with Giovannie & The Hired Guns as the headliner and featuring special guest Braedon Barnhill.

Ricardo “Rick” Trevino Jr. is the son of Ricardo Trevino Sr., a Tejano musician, and Linda Chavez, and he began his musical career at the age of five. After graduating from Westwood High School, Trevino was offered a baseball scholarship to Memphis State University, but instead chose to study music at Texas A&M.

It was while playing music in a local club that a Sony representative heard about Trevino and received a tape of his music. He was signed to the Sony label a short time later and would later release his debut album with Columbia Nashville.

Trevino has had six Top 10 U.S. Country hits, including “She Can’t Say I Didn’t Cry”, “Doctor Time,” “Bobbie Ann Mason,” “Learning as You Go,” “Running out of Reasons to Run” and “I Only Get This Way With You.”

A resident of Willis, Hibbard grew up on his family’s farm in Adair, Oklahoma, and later attended the United States Naval Academy for a year before having to leave due to a shoulder injury. He would later work for several years as a pipeliner for seven years before literally stumbling into the music industry in 2019.

His work ethic has earned him opening slots for country artists such as Sundance Head, Josh Ward, and Bart Crow and opportunities to write with some of the best in the industry. Last year, Hibbard released his debut EP Memory and Dirt Road and three singles – “Just for the Record,” which debuted at No. 25 on the Texas Music Pickers Spotify charts, “Armed and Dangerous,” and his most recent “The Truth.”

Back in 2015, when Giovannie Yanez decided to put a band together, he wanted to form a band of brothers who could put on a high energy show and deliver a sound that the Texas scene had never seen before. It’s 2021, and Giovannie and the Hired Guns have done just that. This group out of Stephenville, Texas has made a name for themselves in the Texas music scene, where they’re known for playing thrilling shows that will always keep you on your toes.

Lead guitarist Chance Bannister brings heavy handed guitar licks and a rich tone with just enough edge. Alex Trejo on bass lays down the rhythm with a rock twist, and drummer Milton Toles plays a soulful beat that further adds to the group’s unique sound. After a successful year of touring and tracking their sophomore record, Gio and the Guns are coming into 2021 with some heat.
