Burnet County election officials and poll workers completed the first week of primary early voting with some trouble - but nothing they couldn’t handle. “It’s going pretty smooth,” County Elections Administrator Douglas Ferguson recalled late last week.

A debate about whether judge candidates should accept political donations from attorneys became a contentious debate Jan. 27 during a candidates form which included those vying for the Republican nomination to sit on the bench of county court-at-law. Angela Dowdle and Cody Henson took the stage introduced themselves and shared their philosophy on responsibilities of the position that oversees primarily misdemeanor cases and family divorce and custody law.
