Marble Falls High School’s Scearce Softball Field will receive facility improvements after the school district’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved the work and payment during its regular meeting May 19.

MFISD approves architectural contract related to May bond
The Marble Falls Independent School District Board of Trustees took the first step in athletic facility updates. They approved a contract with Pfluger Architects for $3.275 million for “comprehensive architecture and engineering services for the softball field synthetic turf, new baseball field, multipurpose facility/auxiliary gym/weight room, Max Copeland Gym locker room additions and renovations, and CTE wing addition and renovations projects at Marble Falls High School.” The approval came during the board’s regular meeting May 19.

Cottonwood Shores swears in councilors
Cottonwood Shores Municipal Judge Don Adams swore in newly-elected council members Gary D. Parsons, Place 2, and Laura Hankins, Place 4, at a meeting following the May election. Both Hankins and Jared Dodd, who became mayor, won in uncontested races. Parsons defeated his opponent with 54% of the vote.

High school theatre group takes silver at state
At the May 2025 MarbleThe Marble Falls High School Theatre Department May 19 competed in the UIL 4A State One-Act Play Contest and was named the State Silver Medalist for 2025. This marks the third time in the last four state appearances that Marble Falls has placed at the state level, earning bronze in 2024 and silver in the 5A contest in 2021.

Huey Todd Corry
Horseshoe Bay, Texas - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Huey Todd Corry Jr on May 21, 2025. Todd was born on October 4, 1948, in Dallas, Texas to Bettye and Huey Todd Corry Sr. While Todd grew up in Dallas and grew his career there, he eventually moved to Houston in 1999 and later happily retired in Horseshoe Bay.
