Many visitors and local families will be gathering to visit holiday light displays to make the final memories of 2021.
The following is a list of events continuing through at least the end of the year:
• In Johnson City, each night the community launch of Lights Spectacular and PEC’s holiday lights display.
The PEC displays, 201 S. Avenue F in Johnson City, features oak trees adorned with more than one million sparkling lights and conjures images of a Texas winter wonderland.
Visitors can enjoy Lights Spectacular in downtown Johnson City which includes the Blanco County Courthouse adorned with lights.
The public can see these free venues through Jan. 2. Christmas lights will shine Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Friday through Sunday 6 p.m. to midnight.
• Llano Chamber of Commerce is welcoming visitors to the Starry Starry Nights through Dec. 31 which features a lighted Llano County Courthouse, business and square. A Christmas display can be strolled through adjacent to the Llano County Courthouse Annex, 832 Ford St., and visitors can also take in Starry Starry Nights at the display trail in Badu Park, 300 Legion Dr., along the Llano River.
• In Burnet, each night visitors can enjoy the lighting of the Burnet County Courthouse and square.
This year, the community pays homage to “A Charlie Brown Christmas” with one particular display with one of their featured lawn fixtures.
The Christmas Trail of Lights in Burnet also includes a walking pathway of lights along Hamilton Creek and its park (from U.S. 281 one block west of the highway on Jackson Street).
Visitors can find another walkway display featuring sculptures, tunnels and a trail in Wallace Riddell Park, adjacent to the intersection of Polk St. (Texas 29) and Rhomberg.
• In Marble Falls, the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce has organized a “lighted dreamland” for the past 31 years with thousands of visitors on an average weekend with Walkway of Lights. The lights come on from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening for the rest of the year through Jan. 1, 2022.
Attendees can also enjoy ice skating at a pop-up venue in Lakeside Park hosted by the City of Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department.
Admission is $10 for kids and $12 for adults with skate rentals being included in the price of admission. Go to visitmarblefalls.org for advance tickets.
The venue is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Jan. 1 and features “snow days” Dec. 28 and 31.
