Marble Falls ISD to offer free summer meals
Marble Falls ISD will connect children 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old with healthy, no cost summer meals. Highland Lakes Elementary, Marble Falls Elementary, and Marble Falls High School will be distribution sites for summer meals.

Storm runoff flows through Llano River, Highland Lakes
Storms over the Lake Buchanan watershed on May 4-5 have caused the Colorado River and its tributaries to rise, according to the Lower Colorado River Authority Flood Operations Report. “This storm runoff will make its way down to Lake Buchanan over the next several days,” the report stated.

In sickness and health, Christ is interceding on your behalf
Some individuals are healthier than others, but the uncomfortable facts reveal the human body is generally frail and vulnerable. I occasionally joke around with my son-in-law about him being from another planet because he claims he’s never been sick, however, like the rest of us, there will come a day when something will go wrong. As a minister, I’ve seen my share of sickness and pain and it hurts me to see someone suffer.

Master’s Garden Black mold on hummingbird feeders can be a common issue, especially in warm and humid conditions. This mold often develops in the sugar water (nectar) solution when it’s not changed frequently or when the feeder is not cleaned regularly.

Marble Falls High School junior runner Tyler Hamblin placed sixth in the 3,200 meters at the Class 4A Track and Field Championships May 2 in 9 minutes and 23.38 seconds. His time set a new personal record.

Lady Flames track and field team finish in state’s top 10
The Faith Academy of Marble Falls girls track team finished seventh at the Class 3A State Track and Field meet of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools May 2-3. The Lady Flames earned 39 points.

Granite Shoals makes some charter changes
Granite Shoals voters passed 17 propositions on the May 4 ballot. According to the Burnet County Elections Office, the vast majority of them passed with high percentages in favor, including a 1% sales and use tax. The rest primarily offered updates to the city charter with the only close votes involving the city secretary’s role as it applies to evaluations and job duties. The following are preliminary results in lieu of canvassing:

Line break prompts boil water notice
