Memories of cycling, ‘devilish’ machines and spooking horses

Some years ago I was involved with some local bicyclists who were on the serious side of compulsive addiction to the sport. We'd go out in Llano and Burnet counties and ride county and state roads for 50 or 60 miles. This was 12 to 15 years ago, when traffic was much lighter than today.
