First Wrigley Field visit revives baseball passion
Recently, I crossed another one off my bucket list. I visited Wrigley Field in Chicago, hallowed ground encased inside a veritable major league baseball palace. Wrigley opened in 1914, when Woodrow Wilson was President of the United States. It is located at 1060 Addison Avenue, near the Chicago Transit Authority elevated train station, the same address used fraudulently by two mischievous musicians in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers, featuring Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi.

Just as residents began picking up the pieces from a storm May 1, torrential rain swept through Burnet County May 5 and 6, dumping several inches onto the area. Despite the recent thunderstorm, the bulk of reported damage came from the early weather event, officials described.

EDC board hires new hotel construction inspector
The Marble Falls Economic Development Corporation board of directors recently hired one contractor to observe ongoing construction of the new Ophelia Hotel and Conference Center overlooking Lake Marble Falls. During its May 7 meeting, the EDC board hired Mike Ingalsbe to serve as the city representative and ensure “construction activities” at the 300 block of Buena Vista Drive conform to the city ordinance codes, also federal and state law.
