Baseball team adds another district victory
The Marble Falls High School baseball team defeated Georgetown Gateway 7-1 March 18 to go to 3-0 in District 24-4A play. Sophomore pitcher John Alan Whittle (2-0) earned the win by striking out 10 batters while allowing 1 run on 6 hits in six innings.

The Marble Falls High School softball team lost to Jarrell 21-10 March 19 in District 24-4A play. The Lady Cougars connected on four home runs during the six-inning contest, including one that was in the park.

Crabapple wildfire claims 9,000 acres
The Texas A&M Forest Service provided an update just before midnight March 16 on the status of the Crabapple wildfire that started north of Fredericksburg yesterday. At that time, they reported that approximately 9,000 acres had burned and containment was still at 0%.
