LCRA awards $19K grant to Sunrise Beach VFD
The Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department soon will construct a medevac emergency landing pad at Sandy Park, thanks to a $19,857 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority. The Community Development Partnership Program grant, along with $4,965 in matching funds from the department, will facilitate construction of a much-needed landing pad for medevac helicopters to land and pick up patients in Sunrise Beach Village.

CPR device will strengthen Cassie response
The Cassie Volunteer Fire Department and EMS will purchase a new automated external CPR device to enable responders to deliver high-quality, continuous resuscitation efforts in cardiac emergencies, thanks to a $19,543 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and Pedernales Electric Cooperative.

Marble Falls High School football player Noah Lyons made his commitment to Schreiner University official May 14 by signing to play for the Mountaineers. “In their augural season as a football program,” Marble Falls head coach Keri Timmerman said.

The Marble Falls High School volleyball team found its new head coach. It’s Zoey Hanrahan-Beard, who has been an assistant coach with the Highland Lakes Aces volleyball club founded by Erin Sawyer, who is the Faith Academy of Marble Falls volleyball head coach.

Lady Flames volleyball team putting in work for success
The Faith Academy of Marble Falls volleyball team is putting in the work now for the 2025 season. The Lady Flames, who are a Class 3A state semifinalist of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, are playing in the Llano May League that’s each Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
