Lower property taxes with bees
Texas law allows bees and bee hives to qualify for reducing property taxes on plots ranging from 5 to 20 acres similar to livestock or raising hay. Property taxes on small acreages can now be lowered by keeping bees on the property. The bees do not have to be owned by the landowner.

PEC standing by for cold with all hands-on-deck
Following last week’s cold snap, Pedernales Electric Cooperative continues to monitor weather conditions closely as another batch of cold, arctic air is forecast to ascend over Texas this weekend. The latest front is expected to begin with very cold and dry air arriving Saturday, Jan. 18, with chances for precipitation across PEC’s service area Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures are also expected to remain below freezing for more than 48 hours in some parts of the Hill Country.
