Former judge issues invite to coffee
Special to The Highlander The news over the weekend from Burnet County is that Judge Gil Jones has officially applied for the Burnet County Judge position. Although the Burnet County commissioners will have the final vote, Judge Jones is planning a few casual coffees with community members to give him the opportunity to meet with the public and express his thoughts and vision for Burnet County and to answer questions and hear what Burnet County folks think.

The Marble Falls High School boys soccer team beat Austin Achieve 3-2 Jan. 7 to give head coach Ryan Craven his first win. The Mustangs (1-1-2) and the Polar Bears played to a 1-1 tie at the intermission before Marble Falls scored two in the second half. Achieve added a meaningless goal when the contest was decided.

Auditions for ‘Steel Magnolias’ scheduled
Hill Country Community Theatre (HCCT) is thrilled to announce open auditions for its upcoming production of “Steel Magnolias,” the beloved comedy- drama set in a small-town Louisiana beauty salon.
