LCRA will hear comments on quarry
The Lower Colorado River Authority is expanding the ways members of the public can share feedback on a proposed aggregate processing plant and quarry near Inks Lake. In addition to providing comments online or by mail, members of the public are welcome to share their comments in person between 8 and 11 a.m.

Drought restrictions stuck at Stage 4
The Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District (CTGCD) board decided to maintain Stage 4 critical drought restrictions. “Obviously, because of the lack of rainfall,” CTGCD District Manager Mitchell Sodek told the board during the April 21 meeting.

EXCELLENT. Water slight stain; 69 degrees; 21.30 feet below pool. The 5 hours a day of generation and strong south winds has blown some depleted oxygen water around the lake. You may have to move around a lot to avoid the bad water.

Local brokers close new state park land deal
Local environmental preservation supporters may be pleased to hear some good news. Recent negotiations between the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and Texas Branch Brokers, based in Burnet, have settled on the purchase of more than 1,000 acres of pristine land near Burnet and Lampasas counties, as part of an ongoing TPWD plan to manage additional space near Colorado Bend State Park.
