Marble Falls High School grad guides Jonesboro to state title
The Jonesboro High School softball team beat Neches 3-1 May 29 to capture the 2024 Class 1A state championship. “It feels amazing,” said head coach Amanda (Thomas) LeCroy, a 2014 Marble Falls High School graduate.

Granite Shoals eyeing discolored water mystery
Granite Shoals is still plagued by remnants of a water main break that resulted in a boil-water notice and shut down of much of the city’s water supply May 5. City council members heard complaints at their regular meeting May 28 about water discoloration and odors in homes.

CTEC district meeting in Kingsland, election coming up
On Monday, June 10, at the Kingsland Community Center, located at 3451 Rose Hill Drive, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Central Texas Electric Cooperative (CTEC) will be hosting the CTEC District 4 Llano County annual meeting. The annual meeting is normally held in Llano at the high school.

Lake levels continue to rise thanks to recent rains
City of Meadowlakes The water level in Lake Buchanan has risen to 72% as of Tuesday (May 28) compared to its May 1 level of 48%. Lake Travis’ level has not seen a similar ascent.

School's out for summer
Spicewood Elementary School celebrated end of the school year with a field day, which included colorful outdoor activities. School was dismissed for summer break on May 23. The first day of the 2024-25 school year is Aug. 14.
