Llano County ponders energy plan

Llano County commissioners are considering a move they say could bring better loan conditions to developers as well as better economic development to the county. It’a called Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) and it involves a contract between the county and a nonprofit state agency which will then assess the project’s water- and energy-saving infrastructure to learn how much can be saved over the life of the equipment. 05/27/2025 04:25 AM

Officials working on a controversial rail line project have halted the permit application process, citing a need to do more “assessment and evaluation.” Texas Materials, a Cedar Park-based company, notified public officials, politicians and media that they are pausing their federal permit application for the project.
