Marble Falls permits ‘quadplex’ project
Marble Falls City Council approved a conditional use permit July 16 that would clear a dilapidated property and expand housing options for low-income residents. The council action, during its regular meeting, allows a contractor to build 12 apartments separated over three lots into two-story “quadplexes” (four apartments per each lot, paired atop one another within three stand-alone units) within the Marble Falls Original Township Downtown Residential District, near the Avenue T and Seventh Street southeast corner.

MFISD briefs on campus carry firearms policy, budget
Marble Falls school trustees heard briefings Monday about school board policies for the coming year, including those for school district employees au- thorized to carry fire arms on campus. Those policies haven’t changed, said Assistant Superintendent for Administration Stan Whittle.

Area crews contain blaze
A brush fire, which scorched 47 acres in a wildland area between Burnet and Marble Falls, was contained with the assistance of the Texas Forest Service. The battle, referred to as the Lover’s Hill fire, began on Friday, July 12, and kept fire crews from the Marble Falls, Granite Shoals and Kingsland area busy for much of the weekend.
